There is nothing more exciting to me than brand new additions to my favorite tea house. In both mid and late 2024, there have been several changes to Pincha Boba’s already diverse and flavorful menu.
The tea house is specially decorated for Lunar New Year with vivid red paper lanterns, orange streamers and thoughtfully-made paper flowers. These decorations dot the walls and elegantly hang from the ceiling, a visually-pleasing display of festive colors.
Along with the changes in decorations come all the tweaks to the menu in the past year. New sinkers and combos as well as boba flavors have been introduced to the incredibly popular selection.
Excited about the new flavors, I sampled two of them. Here is your latest update on Pincha in 2025:
Spiced Chai Latte
As a long-time fan of chai, I was incredibly excited to try this flavor. The toasty, fresh boba at the bottom of the drink was an oddly satisfying contrast to the ice-cold tea. Once tasted, while mild at first, the flavors did not disappoint. A warm mix of the traditional chai spices, this trendy tea was velvety, rich and very hard to stop drinking.
While a great option, I didn’t enjoy the excessive amount of ice, which took up approximately 40 percent of the cup. If you are a slow drinker, this could leave the tea a bit watered down.

Brown Sugar Date Shake
While I have never been a particular fan of dates, the flavors were surprisingly pleasing. Introduced in December 2024, the date shake has a creamy, silky milkshake consistency that makes it very addicting. The date flavor is quite prominent, creating a nice nutty sensation that makes it a unique icy blend. Like many other milk teas, date syrup is artistically swirled on the inside of the cup, making it all the more enticing.
The only downside of the shake was that it was a little heavy on the brown sugar, making it hard to finish past the first dozen or so sips. Those who are not a fan of excessive sugar should purchase with caution.

The Spiced Chai Latte and Brown Sugar Date Shake were only two of their many new additions, namely Wintermelon Tea and Matcha Series.
Wintermelon Tea has a supposedly soft, refreshing and mild honey flavor. It can be paired with boba and any other sinkers of your choice.
The Matcha Series contains Ooh Lala Matcha (oolong green tea paired lychee and matcha), Tataro-Land (a taro milk tea paired with matcha foam), Mango Cha-Cha (a non-dairy beverage composed of matcha latte paired with mango marmalade) and the Berry Matcha (a strawberry smoothie paired with matcha foam). It is a great option for fans of matcha and all tropical flavors.
2024 brought so many new fresh and exciting flavors for tea-seekers to enjoy. Whether you are a hard-working student or employee, or just someone looking for a refreshing drink to enjoy at the end of the day, Pincha Boba never disappoints.
