In the sunny afternoon heat of Nov. 2, 2023, the Foothill Cross Country Team competed and won the TCAA League Finals. With the boys’ varsity, junior varsity and girls’ junior varsity all winning first place, along with girls’ varsity winning second, the team raced well and set personal records at the Camino Real Park course.

On Aug. 31, 2024, Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) cross country team traveled to Santa Barbra, Calif. to compete at the University of California Santa Barbra (UCSB) Gaucho Invitational. This was the first race of the season for the team and they had 53 athletes competing.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) cross country team won first place in TCAA League Finals. They advanced onto the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the boys varsity won third place in the CIF State Championship.

The boys' junior varsity race started fast with Brandon Wofford '25 fighting hard for a spot in the upper pack during the opening of his race, hustling as he came down the airstrip to the start of the valley loop.

On Dec. 16, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball team competed in a league match against St. Bonaventure High School, (Bonnie) and lost 47-76. Kiara Zavala ‘26 (number 5) runs the ball up the court starting an offensive play with hopes of catching up to St. Bonnie.

On Dec. 13 and 14, 2024, the Ventura Harbor hosted its annual Parade of Lights, with this year's theme being Candy Land. This event has free admission with some paid activities. They had kids rides, carnival games and some food vendors on the Harbor Village lawn. Along the main walkway, they had faux snow, a bubble guy and LED performers dressed up in light up costumes.

At the winter holidays approach, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) held its annual candy cane drive. Candy canes, the perfect holiday treat, were dispersed in decorated jars in every science classroom, from Mrs. Anderson to Mr. Weldele. Students in these classes were encouraged to donate a dollar and receive one of these treats in return, a donation that goes to the National Marrow Donor Program, formerly known as Be The Match.

During Winter Week at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech), seniors smile in their coziest sleepwear for Pajama Day. This year Foothill Tech's own Associated Student Body (ASB) organized a spirit week which includes holiday accessories, ugly sweater day, pajama day, and Santa's workshop.

Grace Brethren High School (Grace Brethren) player, with the pressure mounting as fans cheer her on knowing a play had to be made if they were going to change the momentum of the game. While the final score was 0-0, Foothill put up a strong front with solid defense and aggressive offense.

With a win against Santa Clara on Friday Dec. 6, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys basketball team traveled to Buena High School to battle the Bulldogs in a nail-biting game. Although the Dragons were up by three at halftime, the Bulldogs fought back and won, with the final score of 54-61. Pictured, Ashton Brown '26 (number 11), takes the ball down the court using his handles to out-maneuver his defender. Brown was one of the key components of the game from his efforts on offense, ranging from three-pointers to ball movement, to his intense defense that resulted in multiple blocks and steals.

Coming into the game with the record of 1-6 and the desire to win, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys basketball team faced off against Santa Clara High School. The Dragons worked together cohesively to secure a 53-44 win against their opponents. Pictured above, Nick Turner ‘26 (number 5) drives down the court with the intention of scoring a basket. Although his defender was able to catch up, Turner, unrelenting, goes up for the layup as his defender flies by.

On the chilly night of Dec. 6, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) faces Ventura High School (Ventura) in a non-league match, testing their skills and teamwork. Although ending in a 0-2 loss, the Dragons persevered throughout the night, putting pressure on Ventura with strong defense. Pictured above is Mikayla Pecchi '25 (number 8), who carefully navigates Ventura's defense, aiming to get the upper hand for her team. Although coming back from an injury, she remains a strong and essential player for the Dragons, both on defense and offense.
