As students at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) return to school, new changes have been implemented for the 2025-2026 school year. One such change is the new student information page that is replacing the colloquially known “Q,” or Q Connect: the platform Aeries.
Aeries is a dashboard for students, parents and staff that provides data such as student schedules, attendance and grades in one hub. Similar to Q, students are still able to easily access their grades and transcripts, as well as receive updates from teachers and counselors.

Since the site has been launched, both students and teachers have expressed varying opinions regarding the site. Some have praised it for its fresh design, while others are still adjusting to the change. Lily Robertson ‘29 stated, “It is a lot easier to navigate than Q and easier to get to and to access your classes overall.”
Many Dragons have also noticed the refurbished user interface of the site. Unlike Q, Aeries offers more streamlined menus and a cleaner layout. Sophomore Camila Tadillo explained, “It looks a bit more organized than Q, which I feel was old and outdated.” The modern appearance, with new colors and spacing, makes the site feel more in line with the current technology.
Another benefit of Aeries compared to previous platforms is access to A-G requirements, which show students what classes they are still required to take based on their end-of-high-school goals, including credits needed for high school graduation, University of California (UC) and California State University’s (CSU).
However, despite its benefits, the new platform has come with challenges to both faculty and students. Specific issues reported include difficulty with the new navigation system, seating charts and attendance. English teacher Jennifer Kindred expressed, “Part of me thought, ‘Oh, good, something new,’ and now that I am struggling and don’t know how to do everything, I’m frustrated — but I am hopeful that will pass.”
Aeries has brought both beneficial additions and challenges, but it also is a significant step in modernizing Foothill Tech, offering a more accessible information hub to students, staff and parents. While Dragons may have to allow time to adjust to the new site, many are hopeful that through its various benefits, Aeries will help students’ academic careers in the years to come.
