Kindness and positivity filled the air at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) during Kindness Week, held from Feb. 11 to Feb. 14, 2025. Organized by the Associated Student Body (ASB), the week focused on spreading kindness and love across campus.
Maxwell Fielder ‘25, ASB connection team leader, shared the goal behind Kindness Week and the importance of creating a supportive community on campus, saying, “It’s supposed to kind of encourage connection around campus … being able to build a strong community through different gifts whether it be Valentine’s grams … and also doing Kindness Court … [are] just a couple of things that we do to try to make our campus more connected.”
On the first day of Kindness Week, students were encouraged to wear pink. During lunch, Dragons had the opportunity to make candy grams for their peers, each including a lollipop and a note with space for a personal message. The candy grams were then set to be delivered to classrooms on Valentine’s Day.
Ashton Brown ‘26 said, “I liked how we were able to make candy grams. I think it’s a good way to spread kindness at school.”
On Wednesday, students wore white in celebration of Kindness Week. Flowers were sold for $1 each at the student store, and students had the chance to buy them again the following day.

The next day, students were asked to wear purple. During lunch, in room D108, students had the opportunity to write letters to their loved ones and make bracelets. A variety of colorful beads and strings were available, and students seemed to focus on making bracelets.
On the last day of the week, Valentine’s Day, students were encouraged to wear red. While many dressed in red, others wore Valentine’s-themed clothing, like shirts with hearts or other festive designs and colors. During lunch, those who had purchased flowers earlier in the week could pick them up at the stage. Additionally, a game of musical chairs was held where the winner could receive a prize.
Kaia Kennedy ‘25 stated, “It was nice to see a lot of people wearing red on Valentine’s Day,” adding, “It was cool seeing people get candy grams in class — it kind of reminds me of when we would hand out valentines in elementary school. It’s nice to still do stuff like that, even in high school.”
Fielder explained the process of coming up with Kindness Week stating, “I just sat down with my good friend Ronan, and we just kind of brainstormed about what exact ideas would actually create connection but also create happiness and kindness on campus.”
Kindness Week at Foothill Tech gave students a chance to connect and take part in activities that focused on spreading kindness around campus. From candy grams to dress-up days, it was a week full of small acts that were made to bring everyone together.
