“Crazy, lit, movie.” Those were the words that Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) softball star Danielle Bishop ‘23 used to describe the Dragons’ 2023 season, summing it up as a successful one for the team.

This Foothill Tech squad, led by the senior trio of Bishop, Linda Manzo ‘23 and Jasmine Guzman ‘23, finished with a winning record of 13-7, including a 5-0 run to begin the season. This hot start featured blowout victories against Santa Barbara High School and Carpinteria High School, as well as a win over cross-town rival Ventura High School.

The Dragons continued their winning ways throughout the remainder of the season, powered off the field by the team’s impressive camaraderie and chemistry. “We felt like a big family,” Bishop stated. “Since we bonded so well, we trusted each other and we knew that everyone was going to do their plays as we practiced.”

The season ended with tearful goodbyes to the team’s three seniors on Senior Night, marking the conclusion of a successful 2023 campaign for Foothill Tech softball.
