Boys’ basketball
Boys’ basketball had an up-and-down season, the team finishing with an overall record of 13-15 and 5-3 in league play, many of the games lost by only a few mere points. These scores landed the team in the first round of CIF as with most prior years. However, this advancement was short-lived as the team lost in the first round of CIF playoffs in a nail-biting fashion as they suffered a close loss to Katella High School.
The roster was led by Sam Noah ‘23, who led the team in assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks from the forward position. Ashton Brown ‘26 was the team’s leading scorer, averaging 16.6 points per game, and was joined by his classmate Nick Drucker ‘26 who was third in scoring and led the team in three-point percentage.
Reflecting on his team’s performance throughout the season, Gavin Graves ‘23 felt that, “It was pretty good, it’s just unfortunate that we couldn’t have gone farther in CIF.”
Echoing this positive sentiment, Owen Houston ‘23 added, “From the way we played in our first game of the season to our last, we improved a lot.”
Although the end of the season brought the loss of many invaluable players such as Noah and Houston ‘23, the team has a promising future and much potential ahead of them.
