Foothill students and their accompanying dates enjoyed an evening of dining and dancing Saturday night at prom. The dance, presented by Foothill ASB’s Junior class, was hosted at Saticoy Country club.

Foothill students and their accompanying dates enjoyed an evening of dining and dancing Saturday night at prom. The dance, presented by Foothill ASB’s Junior class, was hosted at Saticoy Country club.  

Though minor controversy about the theme beleaguered prom earlier in the week, the event encountered no issues by the time Saturday rolled around.

Students first started filing in at 5:30, and dug into a buffet full of fresh fruit, pastas, and vegetables. Not long after, the prom-goers headed towards the dance floor and began a night of dancing, photo booth pictures, and ice cream sundaes.  

As the dance came to a close, students gathered around the dance floor awaiting the announcement of prom court; Seniors Cody Clark, Spencer Wittrock, and Christian Rodriguez were named princes, and seniors Naivi Ban, Nina Urban, and Kai Patterson were named princesses. Seniors Emma Birch and Austin Shaw were crowned the 2016 Prom Queen and King, and shared a dance together alone on the dance floor.

Junior Trevor Godfrey described prom as “a one-of-a-kind experience […] being there with all the people you have gone through high school with.”
