Wow, it has been a while. It is almost the fourth week of second quarter here at UCLA, which means I’ll be freaking out about midterms in about two weeks. Because that is still a ways away though, I convinced myself that I have enough time to join another group on campus, CALPIRG (California Public Interest Research Group).
I’ve been told that I’ll be serving as a media intern for their solar energy campaign, but so far I’ve mostly just left flyers in classrooms to promote our informational meeting. I guess every little bit helps? {sidebar id=65}
Class-wise things are going well. I’m taking a medieval Europe history class, introduction to sociology class, an honors sociology seminar, and a class on the brain (the official title of my interdisciplinary brain class is so long that I just call it “brain class”).
Something that isn’t so nice is that I’ve been fighting a nasty cough for the past few weeks. Even though your dorm starts to feel like home after a while, I find I especially miss home when I’m sick. I also feel guilty for coughing all over the cramped room I share with my two roommates, but they’ve been nice about it and pretend not to care.
I’m going to try and keep this column a little more updated for the next two quarters. If any of you have something specific you’d like me to write about regarding UCLA, let me know in a comment below!
Until next time, enjoy what I’m sure is a well-deserved break from finals.
