Foothill teachers eagerly waited outside the staff workroom Thursday during lunch in anticipation of the annual “Teacher Tower.”

Teachers were allowed to come in and pick whatever supplies they needed off of a tower of tissues, pens, notecards, and other supplies. The Parent Faculty Student Organization, PFSO, donates the money and goods for this event.

“It’s really fun doing something nice for them because they do so much for our students. Especially here at Foothill, they really give a lot of themselves,” PFSO parent Brooke Ashworth said.

Teachers such as Claire Adams and Robin Houlahan received bags with the words “Lucky U!” written on the bottom. This meant they got to choose from the “Lucky U!” bag which included more valuable items such as staplers and USB flash drives.

“It’s like going and having your own Christmas all of a sudden. It’s really fun,” Spanish teacher Kathy Leaf said, “Everything they choose is always really necessary… we pay for a lot of things ourselves, of course, and it’s just nice to not have to do that for your basic needs.”

The bags became so full that some teachers even dropped theirs on the ground.

“You know it’s a good, successful “Teacher Tower” when your bag is so full that you drop it,” science teacher Mika Anderson said.

Overall, teachers enjoyed being able to stock up on all of the supplies that they need, and PFSO was happy to provide them with just that.

“The organization is like a mutual support, but they are definitely here to support us more than we ever ask them too, and we especially love that they show their appreciation by giving us things that we need and always ensuring that we have funding for the things that we need,” mathematics teacher Anthony Villa said.
