“The storm came and went, and blew us all to outer space,” junior Olivia Karluk said.

Foothill’s ASB has teamed up with High School Nation, an organization that brings performers and cost-free concerts to public schools during lunch. Their goal is to help students learn more about a career in the music industry by offering hands-on support, along with scholarships and internships.

Stormakastorm is an LA based rapper who is originally from Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University and moved to LA to kick off his musical career. Even though he didn’t move down to LA until 2011, he began writing songs at the age of ten. He says his biggest inspirations were Kanye West, Kriss Kross, and his mother.

Storm’s own songs were composed with unique lyrics and his own beats. His goal is to share his music with anyone and everyone, with the hopes of making them feel good and want to dance.

“My favorite song to perform is ‘Outer Space.’ That song is more of a story to me. It’s having that feeling of being greater than life and just having that feeling of being able to be where you want to be and be who you are,” Storm said.

Storm had the quad up on their feet and cheering. The crowd shouted for an encore, but unfortunately he had run out of songs to perform for the audience.

“I thought the performance was good, I liked the energy that he carried with him. I liked that he was able to keep the crowd roaring the entire time,” junior Andrew Garcia said.

Even though he was out of songs, Storm didn’t leave Foothill right away. He stayed after his performance to take selfies with students, as well as sign posters and backpacks. He really made the time to meet his audience.

“The performance was really fun. It was fun just being here with my friends at school listening to someone rap and dance around,” senior Aaron Hooks said.

Stormakastorm made a normal Wednesday into a fun concert that the entire school will continue to talk about.
