Just wanted to point out that deaths attributed to firearms has gone down 49% since 1993. Moreover, 1/3 of deaths attributed to firearms are caused by suicide.

Interesting podcast can’t wait to hear more debates. These seem like smart kids with their heads in the right place.
A few nitpicks
I hope in future debates the debaters have more time to prepare. Much of this podcast was filled with “I think” statements and the facts that were included were vaguely related to Alex’s questions.
At around 4 minutes Colin brings up a fact about knife killings being greater than rifles. That stat comes right from this article: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2017/10/16/fbi-over-four-times-more-people-stabbed-to-death/
What this statistic fails to report from the very same FBI: UCR source is that fire arms are overwhelmingly the majority when it comes to homicide. Take a look, for yourself. Handguns dominate as being being between 30%-60% of total murders in each state. Which makes sense because hand guns are regulated less strictly and are more easily concealed.

Interestingly around 15:45 Colin implies he wants to blow up the school with a cannon, obviously a joke but perhaps in bad taste considering .
Final nitpick, This seemed like more of a discussion between Alex and Colin with Hannah occasionally getting her side in. The role of a moderator is not to bring up facts, counter facts or give their opinion but to make sure the debate remains on track and respectful.
Overall, good job. I hope to see these improve over time!
