On March 10, the Foothill girls’ softball team lost 3-5 at an away game against Channel Islands High School.
Coach Priscilla Rouse-Becker believes the girls had a good start to their game;
the girls did a good job at “getting on the board early.” They were better today at “staying focus[ed] and bouncing back” after yesterday’s loss, according to Rouse-Becker.
The game started off with senior Monica Mendoza getting on base. Freshman Jade Iannacona attempted to sacrifice her over to second and ended up with a bunt base hit. Freshman Jessica Mendoza drew a walk to load the bases. Freshman Jazmine Razo cleared the bases with a double, meaning she reached second base.
Iannacona, Jessica Mendoza, and Razo all supported their team yesterday as Iannacona made a base hit, meaning she reached base without any complications, and scored a run, Mendoza walked and scored a run, and Razo hit a double and had three runs batted in, meaning three runs were successful as a result of her hit.
Rouse-Becker wants her team to “stay patient” as they move through the process of improvement. She believes that the team has come a long way and will continue to grow.
