The varsity boys’ basketball team competed in a home game against Thatcher School on Friday night. The team lost 44-50.
Coach Dean Prophet felt that the team played one of their “better games.”
“[The team was] more focused and more consistent with positive possessions,” Prophet said.
However, he thought that the team’s inability to stop the opposing team’s best players was “hurting” the team.
“[We] need to find our defensive stopper in order to take the other team’s best scorer out of the game,” Prophet said.
Although the team struggled, Prophet believes that “the boys played very [well] tonight.”
“Hopefully we can learn from tonight, keep improving and have a good second half in league play,” Prophet said.
Junior Devon Brown scored fourteen points, junior Tyler Regan-Sutton scored eleven points, and sophomore Cameron Strain scored eight points and had eight rebounds for the Dragons.
The team now has an overall score of one win and five losses in league with five wins and twelve losses overall.
