Synthetic beats could be heard all around Seaside Park as students moved to the songs of Ludacris, Katy Perry, and other popular artists.
Foothill’s ASB hosted the annual all-district dance, MORP on Friday, Feb. 11. MORP gave students from all over Ventura a chance to cast aside their stresses for this one night of loud music, dancing, and socializing with friends.
“Do we have anyone from Ventura?” shouted the DJ as he was getting the crowd pumped. He asked the same question twice more, asking for the response of Buena and Foothill students next. Wild cheering ensued for the name of each school as everyone continued to groove on the dance floor and on the glowing neon dancing platforms.
Friends were reunited, couples danced closely together, and crowds of people surrounded the most coordinated dancers, watching with enthusiasm and admiration. While everyone seemed to be having a good time, several teacher chaperones stood on the outskirts of the scene, keeping their eyes peeled for the next three hours.
