After voting during lunch, student votes were counted during sixth period today and the positions for Associated Student Body (ASB) Class Presidents and Vice Presidents have been finalized.

Alli Shields, Julia Fickenscher, Alaina Hooks and Abby Sourwine ran unopposed for Senior Class President, Junior Class President, Junior Class Vice President and Sophomore Class President, respectively.

Current junior Jewelia Stevenson was elected over junior Daniel Holst for Senior Class Vice President. Freshman Josiah Beharry was outvoted by freshman Kaylan Ouerbacker for Sophomore Class Vice President.

ASB Advisor Melanie “Captain” Lindsey is excited about the winners because “they are both newer to ASB so fresh eyes often bring fresh ideas and a fresh perspective.”

Although he didn’t win, Beharry is “not disappointed.”

It was really great. I’m so happy to have worked with some of the most uplifting and amazing people and meet new faces and get to know not only the people at Foothill but myself better.”

Stevenson is “super excited for next year and so grateful for all of the people who voted.”

“I wasn’t expecting to win or lose. I’ve been nervous […] waiting for results,” she said.

Overall, Lindsey is looking ahead to next year.

“I am sad for those who lost but excited to see what Kaylan and Jewelia have to bring to the table,” she said.
