I Love Sushi. A name that could not be more perfect for the partly hidden Ventura sushi restaurant, as everyday they produce the most mouthwatering and delectable sushi in Ventura County.

I Love Sushi is located in the Victoria Plaza Shopping Center near Vons and Latte 101. From the outside, the restaurant looks less than appetizing due to the outdated building it occupies and the close proximity of haircutting shops and tanning salons. But it is a different story when you walk inside.

Once you walk in, you are pleasantly overwhelmed with the bustling waiters and the loud buzzing of the conversations of the people crowded into the tiny restaurant.

The combination of limited space and exceptional food unfortunately leads to long lines on busy nights like Friday and Saturday. The wait for a table during the weekend rush can be between 20 and 30 minutes.

Though the restaurant is cramped and the wait to be seated can be excruciatingly long, the delicious food and good service more than makes up for the lack of space between tables.

The I Love Sushi menu offers over 25 different types of sushi, and more than 70 different types of sushi rolls at a fairly reasonable price. Each eight-piece roll costs somewhere between five and ten dollars.

This restaurant does more than just serve traditional Japanese food like blue fin tuna sashimi or hamachi (yellowtail) sushi; they are constantly creating new and exciting sushi rolls for people to try.

Some of their original creations include the Volcano Roll and the Philly Billy. These rolls are two of the best sushi rolls that I have ever tasted.

The Volcano Roll is stuffed with fresh albacore, salmon, and baked avocado and topped with a delectable creamy mayo sauce. The Philly Billy is even richer and more savory. It is fairly similar to the Volcano Roll, but with two tantalizing distinctions: it is filled with cream cheese and deep fried.

If these rolls sound too rich for you, you may want to try the Rainbow Roll, Vegetarian Roll, or the Smoked Salmon sushi. All of these options are fresh, light, and most importantly delicious.

No matter what you get at this restaurant, once you start eating it will be nearly impossible to stop. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit for any sushi-lover.
