Sophomore Alaina Hooks is taking ASB by storm, offering her time to help out with most events.
Hooks is very committed to her work, and puts all her time into the extra curricular, “I’m not doing a sport or anything, so I really only have school and ASB so it’s something I can really put a lot of time and energy into and I really like doing it. I like planning an event and seeing people having a good time.”
Hooks decided to join ASB in seventh grade because of her older brother. “My brother did ASB in middle school now I have the opportunity to do it,” she said.
The class brings her so much joy, Hooks also stated that her favorite part is the connections and friendships you gain through the class. She added in the class offers skills that have helped shaped her current personality, “It’s given me a lot of leadership skills, I’ve never been really quiet or shy or anything but it’s definitely taken me from being a normal person to being more confident and outgoing.”

Fellow classmate Ashlyn Lauchber stated she enjoys having Hooks on the ASB team. “She’s always working hard,” Lauchber said.
When asked about her future in ASB she commented, “ I plan to do ASB for the next two years, with the only year in question being my senior year. Next year I’m going to be Junior Class Vice President, definitely after being in the class for three years I’d want to be Vice President or Senior Class President.”
Hooks says the class isn’t just a class, and it provides lifelong skills, “I’ve learned a lot of problem solving skills, with ASB things like weather, school participation and things like that, if they don’t go right you have to make stuff up on the spot quite often.”
Although Hooks isn’t sure as to where she is going to go for college, she knows she wants bring her experiences and skills with her.
